In the TexaTonka (crossroads of Minnetonka Boulevard and Texas in St. Louis Park) area of Minneapolis is a hip seafood shop called Brookies. @brookiesfishmarket. It was put on my radar by friends of mine, the Oberdorfers, who shop here religiously. I now understand their glowing remarks.

We shopped here for sashimi this summer for our annual sushi party. Excellent quality salmon, tuna, and boiled shrimp. A big hit with our friends. Brookies also had a nice selection of smoked fish, crab, oysters, scallops, and roe.

A nice selection of tinned fish, condiments, and sushi grade rice from The Rice Factory in New York. There are seafood cookbooks that one could refer to if needing help with a recipe. Happy to see my mentor, Elizabeth Andoh’s, Oceans of Flavor on the shelf.

Cool and knowledgeable fishmongers to guide shoppers. I am already looking forward to returning next summer. Until then, any of you in the Twin Cities put this on your radar. Tell Chris or Mike that Yukari sent you.
