Calling all ramen enthusiasts and noodle lovers! Are you ready to cook up the most satisfying ramen right in your own kitchen? This month, we’re making one of the most requested and eagerly anticipated ramen recipes.

This is your chance to shine—so let’s get cooking!

June 2025 JOC Recipe Challenge

Beloved for its rich, milky, and creamy broth, Tonkotsu Ramen is one of the most iconic styles of ramen, both in Japan and around the world. Traditionally, it’s made by simmering pork bones over high heat for many hours.

For this challenge, I’ve developed a simplified yet thoroughly tested method using a pressure cooker, which reduces the cooking time to just 3 hours!

You’ll still achieve the same luxurious, creamy, and intensely flavorful broth—but now, you only need an afternoon to make and enjoy this Easy Tonkotsu Ramen at home.

Everyone who has completed the submission for the JOC Cooking Challenge is automatically entered into the prize draw.

Please note that we will not select winners based on the creations, but you need to make sure your submission meets the scope of the recipe.

How to Join the JOC Cooking Challenge

Make Easy Tonkotsu Ramen and follow the recipe as closely as possible so your final dish will look similar to mine.

To enter for your chance to win the prize (only one entry per person), please complete the following two steps:

  1. Email us your picture: Send one picture of your final dish via email (contest@justonecookbook.com) before 12 pm PST on June 302025, and;
  2. Leave an honest star rating and a quick comment on the Easy Tonkotsu Ramen recipe post: Just make sure to use the same email address you used for your photo submission. Your feedback helps fellow home cooks discover well-loved and popular recipes, and it really supports the JOC community.
