Nishi-Ogikubo Manoma

Delighted to discover Manoma in Nishi-Ogikubo for a recent working lunch. The simple menu consists of a variety of curry with rice, drinks, and a few sweets. My favorite was the vegan dal curry, but all were oishii delicious. The caramel pudding was rich in texture.

Notably the brightly lit cafe has comfortable seating, both at a table and low tables on tatami mat.  There is corner of the shop with some office supplies, a printer, and even some electronics for customers to use. We went at 10:30 and it was so quiet that we talked in soft voices to not disturb those working at the table. But around noontime it became boisterous with a young child and chatty mothers.

Diners are given a time card and after two hours are asked to purchase another food or drink item to continue their stay. Manoma is about a five-minute walk north of Nishi-Ogikubo Station on the JR Chuo line.
