2 days ago 6

Welcome to my new series, Noriko’s quick and delicious 10-Minute Dish. In this series, I’ll be sharing easy Japanese recipes you can make in just 10 -15 minutes. Life gets busy, but that doesn’t mean we have to give up on homemade food. These dishes are quick, satisfying, and perfect for busy weeknights when you need dinner on the table fast. Today’s recipe is Yakiniku Fried Rice, a flavorful twist on classic Japanese fried rice.

Yakiniku Fried Rice uses ground beef for convenience—no chopping required. The dish is quickly seasoned with sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil to mimic the savory-sweet flavor of Japanese Yakiniku barbecue sauce. Mixed with eggs, green onions, and rice, it transforms into a hearty, delicious meal in just minutes.

The secret to making fried rice in under 10 minutes is simple: preparation. A little planning goes a long way. For example, while the beef is browning (try leaving it undisturbed for a bit to get that nice caramelized flavor), you can slice the green onions and beat the eggs. Having rice cooked ahead of time is essential too. With these small steps, you’ll find that quick Japanese meals are completely doable at home.

On busy weeknights, this easy Yakiniku Fried Rice recipe is a lifesaver. It’s savory, satisfying, and comes together faster than takeout. If you’re looking for a quick dinner recipe that’s comforting and full of Japanese flavor, give this Yakiniku Fried Rice a try—I think you’ll love it.
