Delighted to have an American breakfast spot on the JR Chuo line at Cafe Sadiiq. Pancakes, egg, bacon, and a carrot rape salad with tuna. 1,500 yen ($10) for the pancakes, with a latte on weekdays for 400 yen ($2.50). It is just a five minute walk south of Mitaka Station, and on the way to the Ghibli Museum. The neighboring station, Kichijōji, is famous for cafes and coffee shops Mitaka.
Had a nice talk with Makoto Fujisawa and Eri Yokoyama. They said that they had worked at a cafe in the fashionable Omotesando district and had looked to open something in Mitaka as there was a lack of cafes. Cafe Sadiiq only opened in November of 2024 and is still waiting for the full electricity set up. For now it’s a simple menu but will expand later. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. but that may expand to later at night with bar service. Be sure to check their Instagram page for holidays. Currently Mondays and Tuesdays.
