Tokoyo no Naganakidori, a new yakitori restaurant that recently opened in Tokyo’s Minami-Aoyama district, takes the popular grilled chicken dish to a whole new level.
Tokoyo no Naganakidori serves an exquisite yakitori course featuring the Kuro Satsuma chicken, a breed descended from Satsuma Jidori, one of Japan’s three great native chickens, exclusively raised in Kagoshima Prefecture.
The restaurant sources whole chickens directly from Kagoshima and meticulously prepares each bird, cooking every part with the most suitable technique to bring out the rich, natural flavors. The skewers of chicken are expertly prepared with traditional charcoal grilling techniques mastered by skilled artisans.

The yakitori is elevated with luxurious ingredients such as Miyazaki caviar and karasumi (bottarga).
The restaurant’s name comes from a bird that appears in Japanese mythology and ancient folklore. It is said to reside in Tokoyo no Kuni, an ideal land of immortality and eternal youth.
With its exceptionally beautiful and uninterrupted crowing, it is known as the "Long-Crowing Bird", often regarded as a symbol of longevity and mystical power.
